Too often the Suffering Church does not have a favorable environment in which to develop and thrive because of extreme persecution. Every day we hear stories of Christians that are not able to find employment because of their faith and yet who are constantly striving to bring dignity to their homes and their families. With that in mind, MORE has partnered with local churches around the world to create projects that will generate opportunities for the Christians living under these conditions.
Working with a Christian community in Myanmar, MORE SouthEast Asia has started a community development project with the main goal of creating jobs and bringing income to the region. The country of Myanmar is currently ranked 23rd in religious persecution according to Open Doors. So, because of safety considerations, we are unable to mention the name of the village or the church that has been helping MORE International’s team with this project.
The project is called “Life Myanmar;” and it is developing a pig farm. The “farm” will provide the local church with the necessary means to employ it’s members and thereby bring income into the community. After a year we expect the farm to become self-sustaining and no longer need external funding.
One way you can respond and engage with all that God is doing in Myanmar is through your prayers and through partnership. You can partner with Myanmar or with one of MORE International’s other locations. You can also do this through Corporate Sponsorship.
